Eight pounder (Bowl)
So I guess it was on the twenty-seventh, Jane challenged those of us who wanted to, to throw large, as in more than six pounds of clay, as an example for us Jane herself threw a ten pound bowl. I had a lot of trepidation since I had only been back for a couple of weeks so I settled for trying an eight pounder. The lesson for the day was bowls, altered bowls and large bowls.
I was successfull, thankfully with minimal issues ...
Here is what that bowl looks like when I am getting ready to trim it that following week, probably should have taken the picture prior to putting it on the foam but there it is and I wasn't gonna take it off snap a shot and have to redo the centering etc ... yep, lazy is as lazy does. Just for reference that's a fourteen inch wheel head.
Like the coconut rib bowls this one is also Miller 55.
