Catch-up
So, we were out for Easter, "Ostara" to many of my friends, personally I'm a solstice, saimhain kinda guy but whatever ... the week after I was unable to attend, family business. At anyrate - I must have appeased the Potting Gods somehow, when I unwrapped the items I had thrown three saturdays ago, they were still wet - in fact I had to put one item under the fan for a good twenty. Wowser- dunno what to say except "Thank you". Maybe they decided to take pity on me since I am playing good parent and taking my son driving on the highway ... dunno, I do know I have a few new gray hairs.
Jane says - (yes, but not quite like the song) Take a couple of minutes and throw a pot like this ... [[Jane shows me a pot to throw]] we're going to do something special today. Hmmm, I am intrigued. So like a good little student off I go and throw the pot requested and get it under the fan. So far so good, next ... trim the berry bowl plate. check. Onto the berry bowl, use a green scrubbie and clean up any clay boogers hanging out in the holes, also double check handles and verify a good attachment and no incidental cracks. Run the scrubbie over a couple of mugs ... which, ahem ... my good friend still hasn't figured out are coming. lol ... what can I say ...
Pull two handles and get them to drying so I can attach them later, and class starts. What are we doing? Why Duck-butt pots ... WHAT??? I hear you exclaim is a duck butt pot? For starters it probably has a more fancy name but that what I call it because it looks like donald ducks butt. You'll see it next week I was so busy today I forgot to take pictures. I also assembled two mugs.
Finally I put in four glaze tests (Chun Plum, Deep Sienna Speckle, Deep Firebrick and Albany Slip Brown) also glazed Amber's plate, have to redo the bowl - it didn't turn out as intended.
Yeah so - full day
